Spotlights, designed and styled to appear on the left side of content pages, can be used to highlight material and connect users to another page of interest.

Each spotlight will have a headline, one or two sentences of text, and a link to a page or site with more information. You can also use a photo, although it's not required. Place spotlights beneath call-to-action buttons.

To place a spotlight, customize this page and go to the sidebar button under the sub-navigation to open a content box

Select Page Items, then select Spotlight from the component list.

Fill in the highlighted boxes. If you're linking off site, use the page's url, and check the Open URL in New Window box. If you're linking to a page on your site, use the node instead of the page url. If you use a photo, be sure it's sized correctly.

If you used an image, the spotlight will appear with the headline in white text across the image. Check the image to make sure the text is not obscuring too much of the photo.

If you did not use an image, the headline will appear in white text on a green background.

Remember to select Finish and to save the page to preserve your work.
